Scout-O-Rama (SOR) will be held on May 13, 2017 (10:00am - 4:00pm) at the History Park, San Jose. Please note that the SOR coupon card is your admission ticket to the Scout-O-Rama event.
SOR Coupon is $10 per card and comes with multi-use offers to local retailers, including Togo’s sandwich, San Francisco Giants, Goodwill Store, Scout shop, and more. Activity card also includes four one-time coupons offers to retailers in the community, including $10 Off Orchard Supply, $10 Off BIG 5, $10 Off Dick’s Sporting Goods, and $30 Off Great America. Troop 457 requires (mandatory) that each family buy, at least, one coupon card. For every card sold, Troop 457 will keep $3. This helps our troop when paying for camp or other Scouting activities. If you buy at the gate, on the day of the SOR event, you still pay $10 but the troop does not benefit. We will be doing the "Lumberjack Sawing" activity at the Troop 457 Booth at the Scout-O-Rama 2017 event. We need Scouts and Parents to sign up for 2 hour shifts, to coordinate the Troop 457 Booth ?Lumberjack Sawing? activity. Over 130 Cub Scout packs, Boy Scout troops, Venture crews, and Exploring Posts host interactive, hands-on, booths. filled with fun and play. We expect over 6,000 active participants from young children to the youthful. Here's a taste of what to expect: Rain-gutter Regattas • Water Rocket Derby • Pushcart races • Monkey bridges • Signal towers • Community displays • Merit Badge with fun, hands-on, examples • Crafts • Sports • Exhibits • Cooking Date and Time: Saturday, May 13, 2017 from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm Location: History Park at Kelley Park, 1650 Senter Road, San Jose, 95112 Admission Fee: Troop 457 requires that each family buy at least one coupon card ($10). I will bring the coupon cards at the Court of Honor. Activity cards also include coupon offers to a variety of retailers in the community, including: Orchard Supply, BIG 5, Dick?s Sporting Goods, and Great America. Food: Lunch and snacks will be available for sale from a council-operated trading post, a local family restaurant, and food trucks. Entrance: The main-gate is the entrance on Phelan Avenue. If you need to leave and come back remember to keep your Scout-o-Rama card handy. Parking: Parking concessions charge $6. The main parking lot is on Phelan Avenue and will hold about 250 cars. When that fills up, visitors will use the parking lot across the street. There are no ?in-and-out? privileges for these concession lots. Opening Ceremony: A ?parade of flags? will begin at the Phelan Street entrance and will ?snake? through the exhibit areas, adding flags to the procession.
