 Inviting Girls to join T457!! About Our Troop We are starting a BSA Girls Troop and looking for more young women, ages 10-12, eager to experience what Scouting has to offer! Traditionally, BSA Scouting has been a boys' youth program aimed as developing character and leadership/responsibility. Now, the BSA Scouting Program is available for youth girls to experience the outdoors and develop the character and leadership/responsibly skills that BSA Scouts is known for. Our BSA Scouting Girls Troop is sponsored by a strong, existing Boys Troop, Troop 457. The new Girls Troop will benefit from shared resources and experienced adult leaders from Troop 457, but the Girls will be their own troop, learning to live by the BSA Scout values while having many fun outdoor adventures! A BSA Girls Troop will be able to do everything that Scouting offers such as camping, kayaking, horseback riding, crafts and STEM centered activities. While doing these fun activities, they will relish their achievements as they learn teamwork, leadership and personal responsibility as a Girls led troop. We have the adult volunteer leadership in place, we have the resources and experience of an existing troop and we have a few young, eager girls to start our troop. We are looking for more girls that are interested in learning and experiencing what the outdoors can offer them. Girls that want outdoor adventures, that know that they can do anything they put their minds to. If you have a daughter who has completed the fifth grade and is at least 10 years old OR earned the Arrow of Light Award and is at least 10 years old; OR at least 11 years of age, but under 18 years; and likes outdoor activities, please contact us to schedule a visit (virtual for now) with our starting group.
